Recording Academy Comments on the Designation of Mechanical Licensing Collective
The Recording Academy appreciates the leadership of both the AMLC and MLC and respects their submissions to be the new Collective. After careful review, the Academy believes the MLC is best equipped to run the Collective. However, additional information is necessary regarding accurate data matching and songwriter outreach to ensure every songwriter is properly paid for their work. The Office anticipated the need for applicants to "supplement their initial submission" and we encourage them to seek more information in these areas. The Academy's full comments can be found below.
